Russian antitrust denies risk of airline fee spike in 2019

MOSCOW, Sep 2 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service sees no reason to forecast a dramatic growth of airline fees in 2019, an official told PRIME on Monday, when news daily Izvestiya reported, citing Deputy Executive Director of the Aircraft Users Association Boris Shokurov as saying that the fees will grow 9–10% in 2019.

“Taking into account the fact that pricing of the tickets takes place in market conditions and depends on people’s solvency there are no reasons for negative forecasts.”

A service official also said that no claims on the matter will be left unnoticed and that the activities of the Aircraft Users Association will be checked for collusion.
